Position Title:  Spanish Teacher Long-Term Substitute 

Qualifications: 

• Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification (023)
• Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Spanish

Reports to: Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Period of Assignment: Starting on December 4, 2026 and ending on December 23, 2026

Responsibilities:  The Spanish Long Term Sub Teacher has the following responsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by the Building Principal and/or designee:

• Prepare instructional resources and assessments that support the delivery of the Avon Public School's world language curriculum
• Develop and implement lesson plans, unit plans, and educational projects to ensure students’ academic development. 
• Provide differentiated instructional strategies and assessment and/or modify the curriculum to meet the learning needs of students with structured learning plans (IEPs and 504s)
• Provide support to all learners who require additional help or guidance with academic problems and concepts. 
• Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
